Oluwatoyin Giwa is a first-generation Nigerian American whose roots in the rich traditions of her culture have shaped her into a dynamic force in the world of storytelling. Born and raised on the north side of Chicago, she now resides in Los Angeles, where she thrives as a supervising TV producer, writer, and independent filmmaker.

From an early age, Oluwatoyin was captivated by the power of storytelling—a passion deeply influenced by her Nigerian heritage. After earning a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Public Relations, she began her professional journey in the tech industry as a Marketing Account Manager in California. However, corporate life quickly proved to be too limiting for her creative spirit, sparking a career-defining pivot into media. She pursued a graduate degree in Media Management, and upon successfully defending her thesis on the Nollywood film industry, she moved to Los Angeles to intern at the prestigious American Film Institute.

Since then, Oluwatoyin has carved out a successful career in the TV and film industry, producing high-impact content for top networks and studios. Her recent work includes freelance producing on hit shows that resonate with audiences across multiple platforms, collaborating with fellow creatives who share her passion for storytelling.

“Being behind the camera for the last 9 years has been an incredible blessing. As God enlarges my territory, I want to pour our stories, experiences and knowledge on good soil.”- Oluwatoyin Giwa

In 2020, Oluwatoyin founded her production company, ILÉ IFE Studios—a name derived from her Nigerian culture. ILÉ IFE is a boutique production company dedicated to authentic storytelling that bridges the gap between the African diaspora and Western culture. At ILE IFE Studios, every project is infused with a deep sense of purpose—to amplify authentic voices and tell stories that resonate globally, while staying rooted in vibrant cultures through end-to-end creative services that leave a lasting impact.

As of May 2023, Oluwatoyin was accepted into the Television Academy and served as Senior Producer for an Emmy Winning Amazon Prime series.
